B. 'Welaka' Rex Hybrid?

woebegoniaOctober 3, 2012

An old friend is looking for the above begonia, supposed to be a Mabel Corwin hybrid. I can't recall any Rex by that name, Mabel didn't do much crossing but she did hybridize a few Rexes. I can't find anything in the indices to the Begonian (wouldn't it be nice if they would spend some money and put out a master index to the magazine, it takes forever to look one index by one. . .). Does anyone recognize the name? I suppose it could be misspelled.

Apparently there was such a begonia but I can't find a picture of it and it may be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

If it was in the Begonian then you can probably do a search on the CD's (provided you buy the 3 CD's available on the ABS site). They are in PDF format so searching is fairly easy.
