Brom ID

MyMasterJanuary 14, 2014

Hello everyone.

I'm trying to identify what i think is a Guzmania? It certainly looks like one but the inflorescence is kinda strange for a guzmania. I'm attaching some pictures. Hope they're clear enough.

Anticipated thanks.

A closer look at the inflorescence.

Although the picture isn't clear I would say your plant is a Vriesea and not a Guzmania.

They will both grow under similar conditions and are both suitable for bringing into the home during flowering.

All the best, Nev.

It's a possibility. It grows wild here in PR on tree branches. The inflorescence is nothing to write home about (like white tuft hairs). Well, thank you for your opinion.
