Begonia 'Luxurians'

greybird_kekeDecember 4, 2012

I was wondering how hard it is to get B. 'luxurians' to bloom? Does it have to be a certain size? Mine is only 16" tall, so do I have a long time to wait?

Is that a seedling? I ask because of the morphology of the leaves towards the bottom of the photo. It's possible seedlings could bloom larger than cutting-derived plants.

I have seen plants in gallon sized pots in bloom many times at local nurseries.

Below is a link to the smallest blooming plant I found with a quick search online. It suggests yours is large enough.

Here is a link that might be useful:

Thanks Mark, maybe I will get some blooms before long then. I purchased the plant about 3 months ago, and it was only about 5" tall. I think it was a cutting, but I don't know that for sure.
