i'm looking to get into cacti you can grow in your landscape. was curious if there is anything out there than can grow from a cutting?? also, i have seen yuccas and aloes in landscapes... do they pup??
Cliff, I have an agave parryi (truncata?) pup. It is a medium size agave, slow growing, maxing out at about 30". I also have an extra aloe pup - have to look up the name for you, it would look good in a tropical invironment and it pups and blooms yearly. Most cactus can be grown from cuttings, even the tall types. Agaves and aloes have pups, some yuccas clump but it's not really like pups, more like root spread. Agaves only bloom once, before they die; aloes bloom in the spring or summer. In Florida your biggest problem with cactus is going to be wet winters, I even have that problem and I'm in California. I lost two prickley pears this year to root rot.
that sounds great!
what are you looking for in return??
in florida, winter is our dry season.
please let me know.
