Recommended pot size for Neo carcharodon 'Tiger'

sambacmouseFebruary 13, 2014

I'm looking for some information on what pot size for these plants since they seem to be quite large growers (80cm +).

I have a large ceramic pot 40cm tall x 24cm wide that I would like to use, but if it is too big then I will use a plastic pot inside of it and prop it up. I don't know if the proportions would be right though, I don't know anything about these plants really.

Thanks
Ben

A full grown carcharodon 'Tiger' will reach nearly 1m wide but the size of the pot you would have it in would depend on how large your plant is now. You wouldn't want to over pot it. Ultimately, you would want a separate pot propped up in your container (which is a very nice container, BTW).

Bromeliads have small root systems so they dont need a big pot but some of these bigger bromeliads get quite top heavy so you dont want it too small either. It is quite a balancing act.

Thank you both for your replies, after reading your posts I decided to pot it into a plastic pot to sit inside the big pot. It looks great.
