Aloe in need of help

artisticjenJanuary 28, 2014

Had an Aloe Vera sent to me by someone. It spent a little too much time in the cold.

It's 3 plantlets. About half of their leaves are a bit translucent and limp. But the there's a few leaves that seem to be nice and strong.

Just got them yesterday, have them planted shallow right now while I figure out how to proceed.

Any chance I might be able to save these guys? Any advice on how to give them the best care possible for recovery?

(Ug, the Wandering Jew that came with is in even worse condition, but I've pretty much given up on it)

Thanks in advance.

Just an update.

It seems like another stem or 2 are firmer than they were, but they're still leaned over.

I'm thinking cutting off the nicer leaves and rooting them might be the best way to go.

Jen,

Aloes don't root from leaves, unlike their cousins Gasterias and Haworthias. Your plants are indeed too wet / not enough light - take them out of the soil for a few days and then show us how they look. They may be salvageable.
