Some beautiful color from the hardy opuntias I planted this year and a planter with semps and hardy sedum. They've emerged from the snow due to a January thaw.
Love how this plant is so hardy... Gorgeous winter colors.
(By plant I meant the sempervivums...)
If happy, the opuntia will gradually spread and can easily be propagated by leaf cuttings. Sempervivum seem to do less well for me.
My opuntia are well rooted. They grew some this year, but the rabbits munched some of the new pads. I hope they grow faster than the bunnies can eat them this year!
Seriously considering a PIG for my huge pot of humifusa this spring. Just not looking forward to the task of prying it out of the pot and doing it!
Here's a pic of my semps wintering in my cold, New England garage. I have probably accidentally knocked this pot over half a dozen times...I just shove em all back in and they keep on. Tough as nails...
