hablu(z8 Netherlands)January 23, 2014

Hello all,

I there some-one who can provide a link to a (really good) Saxifraga-site?
Thanks in advance
Harry

My thought for your question is like someone asking if there is a Jade forum.
I dont think any forum (here or any other internet plant forum) has a spesific family member only discussion topic for you. Rock gardening forums or Zeric might be a good place to ask as well.

Don't know about that Nomen -- Hoya forum is strictly for Hoyas, no other plants, same w/ Sansevieria forum, strictly Sans.

Sorry, Hablu

I don't know, but think you might do better asking this at Houseplant Forum as I think Saxifraga would be more in the Houseplants than Cactus & Succulent area.

Hello all,
Thanks for your answers.
Maybe my English is too poor; sorry for that.
I like to find a site (not a forum), where I can learn (and maybe see pictures) about Saxifraga's. I have several in my garden but have no names etc. But the suggestion of looking in a rockgardensite is helping?
Thanks and greets
Harry

This is a link to The Saxifrage Society. Not sure if this will help you out, but it does have a plant database as well as some pictures. It's a work in progress, so it may not have what you are looking for - yet. (Your English is just fine.)

Here is a link that might be useful: The Saxifrage Society

Hé Crenda, that's a hit on the nail!!
Just what I was looking for.
Thanks a lot; I want to specialize a bit in these little beauties. They combine very well with Semps in the garden.
Thanks again.

Hi Harry,
Not sure if they are good or not, but maybe these will help:
(not all specializing in Saxifrage, but having them for sale-can compare some for ID)

This first one closer to you, Harry?

And here I was thinking Harry needed help with where to plant a Saxifraga. I have one and it's nestled next to a nice flattish chunk of rock. I need to get more of these, as they're quite suited to our environment.

Thanks Rosemarie for the links; I shall check them out.
Hi master Jeff, I posted this question because I found one in the garden almost flowering at this moment. There is still no winter here, but we almost drown because of continous rainfall the last two months. Its a Saxifraga kabschia - the tag says. I have several Saxifraga's, but know nothing about these plants and I got curious if there was more to find and to learn . There are really are beauties amongst them. See the pictures.
greetings from Harry
