What's happening to my brom?

sunshine_qldApril 12, 2009

I have noticed the mum has slightly broader leaves and sparse spines. The pup at the back is like her but the front one is very broad leafed and only a few spines on the tips of the leaves.

The pup on the right is normal/narrow leaves and spiny.

I don't have a name tag for this either.

Is it normal thing to happen? thanks

Kayleen,

Could it be a lighting issue, broms will typically grow larger in the shade and smaller in brighter light.

Are the smaller pups in more sun and shading the larger pup?

Same light on all. I will pull the front pup off and pot it up and see what it does.

Looks like a normal Ae. recurvata to me.
