Vr ' My Butterfly '

vrieseaJune 23, 2010

Hi everyone , i thought i would post these 2 photos of this Vriesea ,for you budding Hybridist the parentage is

Vr platynema variegata and " Milky Way " , i have not registered this yet ( have a few plants to do soon ) and as a lot of you seem to like red tips on the leaves of Vrieseas ,this should satisfy most people ,the plant has 2 faults , it could do with more leaves and does not make many pups , still i like it well enough ,

No Paul ,sorry you can't have one ok ?

Cheers Jack

I'll bet it would get more leaves if it came to stay with me. ;-)

Hi Jack,

Oh! the things you have to put up with. Growing plants with insufficient leaves that don't readily produce pups. Problems, problems, problems; but don't worry mate, help is at hand.

Don't sent it to Lisa, the change in climate might upset it, better to send it on a holiday down the coast to Shellhabrour.

Great plants and pic's as usual,

All the best, Nev.

Good idea Nev, but I'd be worried about the transit damage if it goes all the way down the hill to you. Don't you think it would be much safer if it stopped at my place?

Gee ,you two are just to helpfull and the offer is almost to good to refuse ,such care and dedication and not a selfish thought behind it all hmmm ? anyway Paul and Nev you know what you can expect from that type of cross ,so go for it ,and guess what ? we do have seedlings ( albeit very very small ) of " Montezuma's Gem " x " My Butterfly " , No you can't have any , cheers

Lets compromise - how about I escort the plant to Paul and Nev's - via Lisa's of course (Aloha Hawaii!)then let it settle down at my place. That's settled ;-)

Another beauty Jack - thanks for sharing them and thanks for creating them.

Btw, when so we get a pic of some more of Tam's Bils?

cheers
