Too soon to start planting?

Microthrix(9)February 22, 2013

I have several open plots of land that are just begging to be planted with cacti and succulents. I dont know how much longer i can wait! I got tons of cacti for christmas, and they dont want to be in pots anymore.
Temps are at a constant 40f now. Should i wait till maybe a constant 50f? Or atleast till next month? Any comments/ideas/concerns welcome.

Climate and sun acclimation comes to mind. You don't really want to shock them into colder grounds from a warmer pot just as much as you don't want to shock a plant into a soil that may be to hot if the pot is cooler.

The ground here is still cold/frozen by your zone I'd say to dig away until your heart is content. Move em about and make adjustments for the fifty temps days soon to come.
