Beautiful Kal, Rina...and Schlum, Laura!

Okay, you got me to go out & shoot! Not just bloomers, but those in bud (hoping it will remind me to go out & watch for them to bloom too)! I know the buds can sometimes be boring. =)

I did not name them, but if you want to know (& if I know!) ask by the number in the photo. I'll try to get back to you. Yes, lots of grass & weeds in pix...I haven't been out to weed since our recent rains. :(

I love the unusual blooms on yours, Howard! Little alien sun symbols!

Just realized, two-thirds of my pix are bud pix...anticipation is good. The Aloe 'Twilight Zone' blooming will be a first for me. I've never seen a pic of one, so curious how this Kelly Griffin hybrid will come out. =) The inflorescence is growing fast on it. Hope it's not too long a wait!

Ooo, nice one, Zeck! I haven't had one bloom in a long while. Maybe I should go out & look for a bud!

Howard
they really look like aliens, great, and good photos too.

Rosemarie
what a selection! Great, as always.

Zech
that is beautiful color, and good looking cacti.

I really enjoy all these photos.
My few 'puny', run-of-the-mill, etiolated succs pale in comparison...
BUT, I am thankful for any bloom I can get! And am inspired to look for more.

OooEee, love the buds a-comin', Rina!! Showtime!! The 2nd one almost looks like it has plantlets instead of buds. Does it have really long carpels on the buds?

Didn't know that could be plantlets Rosemarie...I will check it out (not at home right now).

Here is one more, hopefully will flower this time (had couple of buds before, but they just fell off).
Huernia zebrina (received cuttings from a kind GW member last May - it survived!).

I'm hoping you get a bloom from your Huernia as well, Rina!!

Just took a closer look at E. shaviana pic. I can see 1 bud, but those have to be the largest/longest carpels I've ever seen! You might even be able to propagate with them! Closer pix of just the inflorescence would be great for future reference (LOL~mine, if not for you or others) please.

Rina, did you ever doubt yourself that the Huernia wouldn't make it????? Both look great. In fact, the Echeveria looks better than mine.!!!!!!!

(Rosemarie) - sorry, should have said HOWARD...

Yes, I did. I knew plants will want to live, but wasn't sure if I be able to give proper care...but I try reading everything & am happy to say that everything survived ME! This was my very first time getting any kind of plants by mail (photo showing it on arrival). And what to me is more 'exotic' too - plants I don't see for sale every day in typical store/nursery.

Thank you for the compliment on the Echeveria!
And I'll take close-up of it in next few days...Rina

I really like this thread, Rina. It's a great idea and I think we should do it every month. It will serve as a great archive of seasonal succulent blooms plus give us plant nuts one more thIng to obsess over, yay! I've already taken some photos but my internet is down and I'm on my phone so... no photos tonight. Anyhow, I'll try to drop in tomorrow with my Feb. blooms. Great shots, everyone!

Anticipation, (can you hear the song?)...antici-payay-tion, is keeping me waiting...

Ryan is going to be a BUSY guy tomorrow...as I've already seen at LEAST THREE posts where he has promised pix tomorrow! Yay!

Yes, good idea to do a monthly bloomers post. Good way to record what's in season (if/when peeps ask) down the road.

I have spent this month running my husband to hositals ( orthopedic hardware in wrist) doing his job and mine ( both self employed furniture craftsmen). Mostly I have ignored my plants. They have gone unwatered and I saw there blooms as I was running past them. I just hauled my hoses back from a prescribed burn I was working on the front of my property and watered things and did find some blooms.

I apologize for all spelling mistakes and omitted names. I am still on the run and my mind is not easily popping them out. Also if you click the images they will pop up larger.

Aloe variagata

E. lola

Some very small.

Ghost plant . G. paraguayense (sp?)

Spent A. x spinosissima ( one beauty I ran past all month long)

Aloe grassy lassie that has bloomed all winter.

Yucca treculena

Gasteraloe green ice

OooEee, pretties, Mara! Thanks for noticing, snapping & posting for us, amidst your hectic pace as of late. Hope your hubby heals quickly & you can both slow down a bit soon!

Only comment on last pic--is duplicate of your x spinosissima, not 'Green Ice'. But there's time for that later! ***FIXED!
Great plants, terrific shots!

I noticed that and edited the post so now the Green Ice is there. I think That cremnosedum ( so I have that right?) is just getting ready to bloom. It will be a first year for that one. While you Californians have been having our winter cold, we have been basking in yours, minus the rain.

I had 7 bloom stalks on the Aloe variagata. The fat one is only just starting to show bloom. I got the blooming one from a friend and that one is much thinner in stature and blooms earlier so it won't make seed with each other.

Yes, you've got it right...I see your xCremnosedum is getting ready...also sporting our "California tan"! LOL You must be enjoying our winter weather! Wish IT was here!

Wow-that's a lot of stalks! Too bad they're not cooperating on the seed-making!

Your 'Green Ice' looks nice!

Gorgeous pix everybody, tho' it makes my next contribution seem quite puny by comparison. Then again, context is all, these are blooming while 2 wks ago we had a blizzard here, so for snowy Feb. I'll take these blooms.

This next plant, tho' technically not a bloom, is so pretty that it might as well be so.

Thanks to the GW friend who found this post of mine gone awry & let me know. Thanks much, sometimes casual movements of my hands over the laptop make it do things I hadn't intended, like apparently send some of this comment into cyberspace. Thx again.

Hey everybody! I know I'm super late with this but I took these photos all month and I'll be damned if I'm going to waste my efforts again! (taking photos for the forum and not having time to post them is a habit of mine)

Anyhow, here we go!

Mitrophyllum clivorum

Carpobrotus quadrifidus(white flower) Magenta flower is most likely Carpobrotus quadrifidus x Cephalophyllum spongiosum.

Titanopsis luederitzii Pockenbank - my first Titanopsis seedling to bloom!

Argyroderma fissum

Cheiridopsis purpurea

Kalanchoe carnea

Pleiospilos nelii

Lampranthus aureus

Pleiospilos nelii 'Royal Flush' and on the bottom left being sneaky is Aloinopsis malherbei.

Forgot to say... great shots everyone! My Aloe variegata just started blooming a few days ago.
Rina, this was a great idea for a thread. It'll be a good resource when we get through a full year. Next February we can link them all in one master thread.

I'll probably be a week late to the party next month too:/

Very colorful, your GH must be full of color at any time.

Good idea to link all the months at the end of 12 mo.
