Show me your pot.....of Gasteria!

brodyjames_gwMarch 10, 2014

I am interested in seeing how others place their Gasterias in pots and the styles of pots they use.

This is just one of my pots:

I am debating whether I should leave them all clumped in one pot together, or separate them into individual pots (there are 4 parents and 9 babies).
I like the look of a long pot since the plant looks like a fan, but I'm open to any ideas, so I'm looking to you guys for inspiration.

Thanks,

Nancy

P.S. Can I get an I.D. too, please? :)

No special pots for my Gasterias either, I let them be the stars.

another view (love the fan-like)

Here's one I grew from a single very large leaf, broken off & tossed aside at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Its tag said G. distichia (mother leaf was very thick & longer than my hand, wrist to fingetips)

took about 6 yrs., from my tag notes

Cool plants & do so very well when ingored.

How colorful, Harry! My 'Little Warty" has lighter flowers.

I planted this one out front. It gets the same sun as the pot above, but seems to have faded in color a bit. The green looks more gray. We'll see how it does in the rains this summer.

I got this gasteria as a normal looking offset from a monstrose G. nigricans... sure looks different from the monstrose form plus it's much bigger. The pot is about 18 inches long.

Here are a couple of crested/monstrose forms:

G. 'Warthog'

G. carinata var. verrucosa

These are all fantastic!

Nancy, I would grow them in the container together a while longer. Great looking mix, too.
