Aloe Menage A Troix

borrego(Z 10 L.A. Cal.)March 6, 2006

I think these 3 are all the same aloe. They were next to each other when I bought them. I do not know what they are, though. They are not ciliaris, the leaves are too thick. Any ideas?

At least two of them look exactly like a small hybrid I picked up at a Huntington sale about 7 years ago. The tag simply called it Aloe x 'Green & Gold' - there was no parental information on it.

All three may very well be the same, but with varying degrees of variegation.

Do they have a pebbly surface and grow on a stem like A. gracilis? I have one that looks similar to your dark one. I think mine is a hybrid referred to as Aloe x delaetii.

I have had a gentleman contact me and tell me he used to grow these. He identified it as Aloe 'Green Gold', a hybrid, although he does not remember parentage. Mystery solved...........Patrick wins!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, I needed that after my dismal performance with MBT's mystery asclepiad! I guess I should just stick to aloes... :-)
