Bromeliad curling leaves

CactusBoss(Zone 5a)September 16, 2013

I'm not getting any feedback for this after a while in my thread title "New Neoregelia" so I thought I'd post a new thread just about the leaf curl that's going on. It has had a small amount of leaf curl since i bought it, but now it has increased. What is causing this?

After look some more I read that low humidity can cause this as well. The leaf curl has seemed to increase a bit since I got it.

It is natural for some leaves to curl. Also, your brom has flowered so is slowly dying. This could take 12 mths but a couple of pups will grow to take her place.

It's still has plenty of flowers to go. Also when should I see the pups? Can they sometimes fail to produce pups?

Very unlikely they don't pup.
Check the last row of leaves as this is where they mostly come from.

Some pup before they flower.

Your plant will make some pups but I suspect it is a variegated revert of meyendorffii or carolinae which has the trait of curling. The curling in some plants shows up when a soft leaf and hard leaf cross is made.
