I live in north west Wyoming, in a very arid community. However the temps can get as low as -20 in the winter with wind chills to -30. because it is an arid area most flowers and plants do not survive. there are yucca and prickly pear cactus that grow wild so I am wanting to know what other cactus and succulents would survive in these conditions, should I plant them in my flower beds.

I suggest that you ask this on the Cactus and succulent discussion forum. You will probably get more reactions. People don't come here as much. Prickly pears are used as landscape . check out . They have a lot of varieties and will be open about the Zones that they are hardy too.

Leo Chance has writen a great book about all the cactus that are available for cold places.

Intermountain Cactus nursery lists their cactus by Zone so one can know what will work for you.

Here is a link that might be useful: Cold hardy cactus Nursery.
