Will a re-pot kill the flowers?

cold_weather_is_evil(9)May 13, 2014

I have one opuntia that's doing well enough to be loaded with blooms soon. It's an outdoor plant that gets watered every month or two. It's healthy but the roots are reaching out.

I think I should cut the roots and not re-pot, but if I cut the roots will it mess up the blooming? I can wait until they fall off but should I even bother?

opuntias have a more developed root system than other cati. I am confused why you want to cut the roots. I would wait till the flowers are done with. you can use a larger pot in comparison to the size of the cacti.

By the way, the other Cacti forum is much more active. I always feel like I am visiting the other side of the looking glass when I come in here.
