any ideas what plant this might be? after having it around for several years it's suddenly developed a big bud on it!

looks like a stapelia of some kind? I've heard they're very fragrant :-P !

I think this is a Caraluma (sp.) species. It is a stapeliad. Hope you took a pic of the bloom.:)

Yep! it's a Stapelia, not the giant kind. The blooms STINK.
But are so unusual I love em and recently purchased a giant one.
