'07 Hollyhocks

I had to whack a huge stem off this a.m., lots of rust! Got everything cleaned up and it's all looking gooooood!

Red Hollyhock

Pink Hollyhock

PalePink Hollyhock

DarkPink Hollyhock

These flowers can look so fragile on the stems, but they seem to be resilient and can take quite a beating from wind & rain. All of these plants came from one plant that just keeps reseeding itself and in different colors. Last year I had an almost black blossom and several yellows.

Oh, Pat, you KNOW I'm loving those! LOL I was so late starting my seeds that I only have 2 plants (out of 9) blooming so far, but others are gearing up. One of mine looks a lot like your pink one up there, so I can't wait to see what other, if any, colors I might get. :)

Thanks for sharing!

Very, very pretty Pat! I keep forgetting you're putting your pics over here where they belong! Just how tall do these get? Do you have to stake each plant then?
