If so what kind?
It sure looks like one, though being in the shade, it is a little hard to tell what kind it is. Where was the picture taken? That might help in the identification.
Where was the photo taken?
In my back yard in NE Florida. It was hard to see the screen to see if I was getting the pic
Check here to see if pictures are familiar:
Tillandsia recurvate (which you can search on as well for more pictures)
I notice the one in your picture seems to have a stem and flower at the end, which looks like the ones I bought. They don't grow wild here in New Mexico, it's way too cold in the winter, but T recurvata does grow in Florida :)
Picture makes it a bit difficult to say for sure. Debby & Gonzer's suggestion of posting a location definitely helps to narrow it down.
Harry Luther (whom recently died in Singapore last year) authored a book in 2009 that is very good with helping to identify Tillandsia growing in Florida: "Native Bromeliads of Florida".
My guess would be (*maybe*possibly) Tillandsia simulata ~ hard to tell from your picture. Anyway, nice find, especially in your own backyard! Thanks for sharing.
With the seed pod evident hanging below the fork in the branch it shows that it's T. recurvata.
