A new butterfly (for me)

butterflymomok(7a NE OK)June 13, 2011

I got away today and went to a wildlife area about an hour from my home. It rained over the weekend so, there was moisture available, and the area has had good moisture all spring. I saw lots and lots of butterflies. I saw puddlers and "scat"ers. I got a photo of a butterfly I had never seen before. I've included a link to the photo on my pbase website. It's a Banded Skipper - Styrium calanus.

Great find, Sandy!

Don't you just love seeing a butterfly or moth you've never seen!?

So neat Sandy--fun to see new butterflies--keeps that magical feeling about the world. All the new discoveries to be made.
