I've had this for a few years, but this is the first time I'll get to see a bloom. A type of senico, I think.
Here's the plant
And here's the bud
Thats an interesting plant. Keep us updated on the flower opening up.
Nice Paul - Where in Long Beach are you? I live off of 2nd in Naples/B.Shore. Maybe set up a trade or something in the future--
Ity does look like a Senecio, you'll know for sure when the flower opens as it will be kind of like a peeled back daisy, as its in that family(Asteraceae)
I believe they may be smelly too!
After a spelling lesson from Larry, I was able to do a Google search. I'm calling it Senecio anteuphorbium.
it also looks a lot like a Notonia...
i would be more inclined to call it that.
OK -- the flower finally opened today....
Oh wow, how pretty, thanks
Ooo, very nice! Does it have a fragrance?
No scent. I'm sticking with Senecio anteuphorbium, as these sites seem to confirm:
What an unusual flower! I love it!
It was certainly worth waiting for eh
Can tell its of the daisy clan too!
