Joe-Pye Weed wouldn't be a top nectar draw in SoFla, I'm afraid. They like cold winters. You're better off with some Pentas and Porterweed. You can also throw in some Mexican Sunflower (Tithonia) for extra measure. If you want a large shrub to small tree, try Cestrum diurnum. That one is a guaranteed butterfly magnet and a Florida native to boot.
And of course don't forget the Tropical Milkweed, both for its showy, nectar filled flowers and its life giving foliage.
