After a very prolonged "bud stage" my thelocactus finally flowered today.
What a way to end the year!
What is your definition of a "vey long" bud stage? I have a Fercactus Latispinus that has been at bud stage for at least 3 weeks. I'm waiting for it to flower so I may share it with the folks here......
This plant had stalled with a bud, just barely above the surface of the skin for a number of months.
A change in lighting cycles snapped it into flowering.
Hey Waz, I got a couple of Thelos like that too, just waitin' for the right time, we've had an exceptionally wet and cool spring/summer so far, so I was thinking that it's the weather that delays the flowers... I'm sure these were flowering by Christmas last year, but are not even close this season.
Very nice Thelo and beautiful flower also.
Lovely flower. Is that T. hexaedrophorus?
A very nice plant and flower Waz! Well grown.
In response to "shrubs" and anyone wondering,
yes. T. hexaedrophorus.
