Gulf Frits showed up

christie_sw_mo(Z6)July 14, 2012

I saw the first Gulf Frit in my yard a couple days ago and this morning there were three. They're nectaring on my zinnias and lantana. I planted lantana 'Citrus' this year and it's been drawing butterflies really well.

This photo of a Gulf Frit on zinnia Zowie Yellow Flame turned out bright.

Congratulations! I love that zinnia! They have been really 'busy' here and I have more gulf frit eggs than I know what to do with! Thankfully I have even more passion vine than that! The Gulf Frits seem to prefer the P. caerulea for laying, but they are eating the P. incarnata just fine.
