Random plant ID

monkeybelle(7A NJ (Camden County))July 31, 2012

This pretty little thing sprouted up. I don't think I planted it on purpose, but on the off chance that I did because its a nectar plant, does anyone recognize it?

Thanks for any ideas!

Sandy.

It might be one of the crocosmias. Whatever it is, it looks like hummingbirds would like it, possibly butterflies.

Even if it's not used by either, its beauty makes it worth keeping!

Sherry,
Thank you! I just looked up crocosmia, and I think we have a winner! Its definately a keeper. It looks like they grow from a bulb of some sort. I definately did not plant any bulbs. Now I need to do some research and find out how to make sure it comes back next year!
