anyone growing Adenium?

winnjoe(MTL)February 15, 2011

I have a question for anyone who has experience growing Adenium in Canada. I have noticed new leaves starting (very small). Is this too early to prune or is it a good time? They are in a southern window, not watered since December, seed grown, 6 years old. This will be the first time I prune them (they have been slow growers but flowered last summer).

Joe,

Post it in the cacti forum.. From my point of view, I wouldn't do any prunings now. Usually tropicals go thru a form of hibernation during the winter months. As they are coming out of it, I would think they would need their leaves to start grabbing all the sun they need to get going. -- however that's just my own thoughts. My experience with the plant is limited to growing it in my tropical homeland. I don't grow it here in Canada
