Which Sod for Norcal - Shade and sun

gwlolo(9b/ Sunset 15)March 19, 2013

Hi,

We are redoing our landscaping after a major remodel. The lawn has been pretty trashed during the rebuild and needs to be re-sodded. I have 2 major areas - one is around 40-50% shade and the lawn in the back is mostly sunny. The landscape guy suggested Bolero for both areas. Is that the most suitable? I was thinking it might be better to do a shade blend for the shade area and a different one for the sunnier back lawn. Looking at the Delta Bluegrass company website, it looks like they have a "shade blend". They also have a Bolero plus and a 90/10 Tall fescue

I have been very happy with tall fescue laid in a similar location. Al
