Very Light Colored Reti Hybrid

longriver(SF Bay Area)October 22, 2010

We have done a great job to produce over 700 reti hybrids. Yet 99% of them are in red or pink color, only a rare few in very light color. There is a new territory to be explored. I have a new reti hybrid in light color that will be blooming this year again, a 3rd-year to flower.

Here is a link that might be useful:

Hi John. Have you used white flowers in the hybrids with reticulata camellias?. The basic colors of camellias, are red and white. The combination of these two colors have gotten thousands of varieties with different tones.

Si! Daniel: I applied quite a few. I have produced about 30 my own white reti type hybrids and they are very fertile and rather large in size. With them, I am working on F2 and F3 of very light color reti hybrids toward "bi-colored" or "fragrant" ones.
