Shishi-gashira at National Arboretum (pic)

I'll have to try this one at my house. I like the deep color of it. This was blooming at the Nat. Arboretum on Dec 22. It's a nice spreader and could probably be kept fairly low with pruning -- like for under a bay window.

Very nice, dave! My Shishigashira BTDKI (before the dogs killed it) was quite a nice spreader too but the color of the blooms that I got was a medium pink on all the petals. The bloom color that I see from this end seems red in the middle and pink -probably- as the red fades; I did not get lucky to get something like that. I suggest you view the blooms of your next Shishigashira before buying it to make sure they look like in that nice picture!

I don't have the best camera, so there is likely some color distortion in the photo. It was a very nice deep pink. Wouldn't call it red. This is growing in mostly shade to dappled shade.

This is one of the easiest I think and always blooms well here. It seems to grow more slowly but makes a lovely low plant. Mine is in full bloom now as well.
