Barberry flatened by snowbank

springforwardMay 28, 2008

My 1yr old Berberry bush was flattened by a snowbank. I'd like to prune it to encourage it to grow upward again. It's currently flattened to the ground. It looks like a ground-crawler, at less than 1' height and spreadding.

I guess you have not much options but to do that. My boxwood and yews were similarly flattened so next winter, I will have to do something - What exactly I don't know. I suppose my yews can be binded up, but I won't burlap them. As for my rows of boxwoods - I might have to create something out of bamboo stakes and burlap.
