What is this? It says "Mammillaria species"

plantomaniac08(8)April 2, 2014

I know, "Mammillaria species" narrows it down to say... 200 or so eh? I would like to know an ID of this cactus if possible, as I'm not even sure it's a Mammillaria (still a notice with IDing Genera). Thanks!

It does too, eh, Beth!

Flowers are by me needed, but it is indeed a Mamm.

Thanks, at least I know they didn't mislabel this cactus completely. ;) Oh, now I'm excited, I wonder what color flowers it's going to have. Most likely magenta, but maybe I'll get something new this time around... say white, a light pink, or yellow? Although, yellow on yellow... they might just disappear. Good thing that it's a Mamm., they do bloom at a younger age at least.

Totally OT
"Flowers are by me needed" lol

Yeah, not-so-random laughter from dim recollections of Ainsley Hayes.

Hi Planto!

Whatever that is it's cute and round and prickly, my favorite type of cacti. Hope the forum move hasn't caused you to jump ship.
I'm wondering how you and your plants fared this winter. I know it's been tough in the midwest and east coast. I do look forward to exchanging pics of our flowering babies this Spring 2015.
