Bleeding hearts slow to bloom?
Just wanting to know from all those SW Ontarians. I have 3 bleeding hearts. Have grown them for years and usually they are in full glory by now. Have they been stunted by this miserable weather? They are tall but not as bushy and only about 3 flower spikes on each so far. Generally they get to be about 3 feet wide and tall by now and covered with blooms.
I must admit that I didn't get any manure tea or compost onto them this year as I have done in warmer springs.
Is it too late for them this year or should I try some manure tea and see if they bloom?
Also, there are a number of spots that actually look as though the foliage has bit the dust due to frost. Does this sound right?
