Anyone ever grow Podophyllum pleianthum

bonniepunch(USDAz4 AgCanz5a)June 26, 2010

I bought one of these because I fell in love with the leaf. It is not normally hardy here, but it is supposedly hardy to USDA zone 6. I have a warm spot that can overwinter a zone 6 plant sometimes, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Has anyone ever had any luck with it?

Hi BP,

It's a bit late for a replay, but I think you cann well try growing this plant. Older rhizomes can sit very deeply in the soil, and maybeif you protected it with mulch I'd say it's well worth a try. Those guys are hardier than one would think - if you're in doubt ask Kristl Walek from gardensnorth.com, she grew this plant in a very cold Canadian garden.

Kind regards & happy gardening,
