Mystery Bug

misssherry(Z8/9SE MS)August 27, 2011

I've tried and tried to log on to the Insect Forum and can't do so.

I found this interesting bug, about 3"-4" long, on the top of the door frame area of the well house. It has what looks like a dragonfly or damselfly's body, but it's got those long, straight 'antennae' thingies that dragonflies don't have. Maybe it's a moth? If so, it's most unusual! I think it's pretty -

Ant lion [adult]. Ant lions are actually a species of lacewing.
