Another ID

I was given this by a friend before he moved out of the city. He called it "a cactus" - I didn't correct him. I do wonder what it in fact is, though.
Also: Does it look like I'm not watering it enough? I've wondered about that.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Aloe marlothii, I think, and you can probably repot it into a larger pot - it would benefit from full sun in the summer, when you can water it weekly to every 10 days.

I agree with Jeff. Looks like Aloe marlothii. Flowers would seal the deal, but you might not see those for years. Prickly guy!

Yes, but I add excelsa also as an option, but marlothii would be more common. Excelsa seems to have longer thinner leaves compared to stockier leaves of my marlothii seedlings...

You can put a ferox also in there which seems to be more common in US with marlothii look. Then there are a range of natural and made hybrids.

So in summary, thinner leaves, maybe also excelsa but starting with marlothii not bad idea at all. LOL! As Rosemary says, flowers in a few years would give better idea.

More soil, pots, if you can put them in garden for as long as possible in increase growth and nice biggish pots. These look to be 2-3 years.
