Transplanting Canna's

sondra_tn(South East TN (6/7))October 11, 2005

I am wanting to move the canna's I have around my porch to plant on a fence row. Should I cut back the stalks first? When is a good time (season wise) to do this?

Thank you,

Sondra (Tennessee)

Sondra, if canna die back to the ground in your zone in winter, that would be a good time- they won't waste any energy trying to get reestablished before going dormant. Or if it's too cold by then- first of spring would be good.
