Frogfruit

hosenemesis(SoCal Sunset 19 USDA 8b)June 23, 2013

I just planted this in one of my beds as a groundcover to walk on. It's taking off like a shot. A little scary. It has cute little white flowers that look like itty-bitty lantanas.

Yes it looks scary to me too. Give us the botanical name so we can look it up. Al

AHA! It is Lippia! Dang. It came in one of those Native Sons four-inch pots and said it was a native plant, so I took the bait. Well. I wonder if it will be okay in a flower bed now.

I don't think so. Thank you, all. It's coming out before it eats the world.

It IS a native though not endemic - Theodore Payne and Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden both sell it. There is a pink form too. I don't have any problem with mine but then it's hemmed in by gravel.
