Winter Greens

cookie8(zone 5 ON)November 21, 2007

I am looking for a shrub that will stay green all year long. The catch I don't really want evergreens but something with small leaves. Is there anything where the leaves stay on all year long? thanks

Hi Cookie, evergreens is an umbrella description for all plants that remain green all year long. So that covers pines, firs, spruce, yews, boxwood, hollies, euonymous (semi evergreen)- to name a few.

So perhaps what you are searching is something like boxwood which is an evergreen but certainly not a pine or a fir.
