irises and lettuce

hiya everyone!

so things are blooming in my little patch of heaven - zukes, tomatoes, green beans, peppers, carrots, etc.. and i've got a few questions for you all:

my lettuce patch is doing well, and am thinking of pulling out some of my romaine (have alot of it), and replacing it with some butter lettuce (bibb ?). so i'm wondering if i should just wait? as i suspect it's gonna heat up.

also, IRISES - i LOVE them, and believe it or not totally forgot about getting them planted. so i'm wondering if it's too late for the east bay area, and what have you found they're requirements to be here in the east bay.

i thank you for your input and hope you're having great weather like we are here in CC county (hercules),at least right now, lol!

In fact, prime planting season for irises that one orders from local growers is later in the summer. They let them store up nutrition after bloom, then dig and trim them for mailing. In years past, my shipments arrived in late July. Plenty of time left. I'm in north bay, but they want the same thing wherever they are: good drainage, full sun.
