evergreen rodgersia???

ccodd(sacramento, ca)July 29, 2013

I know rodgersia are not evergreen but I'm looking for a dramatic plant like it that is evergreen. Mostly shade, similar size, doesn't matter if it flowers....no hydrangeas or rhododendrons and I have plenty of ferns....something a bit more unusual. I live in Sacramento, CA...hot. Any ideas?

what about a Japanese maple? Perhaps the dissectum weeping variety? I'm not sure if they are all deciduous or whether some are evergreen, but they sure are pretty.
