vine for chain link fence

kreynAugust 12, 2012

Appreciate any suggestions for covering a 6' tall, 28' long chain link fence which is in a planter that is one and a half feet from edge of planter to fence.

The last 10' of the fence jets out 6' where a tree used to live. This is east facing and on the southern california coast.

I was told the Anacapa Pink morning glory would look good. What are thoughts of both anacapa pink and purple morning glory plants together? Bougainvillea would not be a choice though. I'm thinking of converting to water wise plants in my garden. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like a good choice. Here are some other suggestions.

The common name for bignonia in French translates to "sorcerer's fingers" which always prejudices me in their favor.

Star jasmine. House down the street has a chainlink fence surrounding the lower boundaries of their property and it's completely covered in it. Beautiful in bloom and smells great too.
