my summer garden

purnima(z9CA)August 29, 2011

It's been an interesting summer. I have been out of town for a month and it seems everything started to bloom and produce.

Just thought I'd share it with you.

THanks, Purnima

That yellow dahlia is my favorite yellow- so clear and clean looking, like summer. Your veggies are going wild! What is the low rounded shrub with the scarlet red flowers all over? Nice plants!

There were a couple more of dahlias that were eaten by a gopher. The low shrub with orange flowers is Epilobium (I think catalina sp.). This area of the garden has mostly native plants. Yes, the veggies have gone wild. I had been out of town for a month and the mamma mia tomatoes (that I am growing for the first time) just went berserk. I didnt realize that it would take over.

Thanks for the name of the plant- it looks great at this time of year.
I think you are going to have lots of tomato sauce...

Very nice! My tomatoes are going wild also and are just starting to turn. Don't think I'll get the production I had last year, but it's something.
