And it was only one from the looks of it! LOL! I grabbed it fast. lol
One of my favorites and no one has had it yet this season, and there was only one at lowe's the other day.
A great plant! And it is busting out! :-D
Also known as Ledebouria socialis, right? Very handsome.
Yes, and yes. lol... I love this plant! I think I will divide it among 3 different pots. Need to keep a close eye on it for seeds too. :-)
Hi Marguerite! Thank you. :-)
yes it is. And is also known as Silver Squill and I've even seen it called Leopard Lily.
I got one as a bonus plant when I bought something on ebay. It has been quite promiscuous! Your "bulbs" are much fatter than any of mine, though, so I'm jealous.
That 's a great bonus gift Ariel! Yours will fatten up in time. :-). I do love how fast they multiply !
Beautiful Squill!! Mine is finally blooming again!!
Great find!!! :-)
Good to see you!!
I love the tiny blooms! I tried to get a picture, but with a breeze and my camera not working too well I couldn't.
Do you have yours in a gritty mix?
I'm watching and hope they get more in. Home Depot hasn't had any this season either.
if I remember rightly, this is one of the few plants that Al said prefers the 5-1-1. That's how I'm growing mine.
Mine is in the 5-1-1 too!!
Like Josh, ( hi Josh). Al said it would do better in the 5-1-1. So, that is what I keep it in.
Yours looks like it is ready to bust out of that container!! What a deal!!!
Have a great night !!
Went by lowes the other day but did not see anything like that in the cactus section. Maybe it would be in perennials?
It looks like JoJo got hers from "The Cactus Collection" (at least I think I'm looking at the sticker right), which would be found in the C&S section. I've never seen Scilla in our BBS C&S sections. Which is sad, I want one too.
Maybe mine aren't fattening because I have failed to treat them like succulents? (They've gotten plenty of water, so they're not bulging-out to store water?)
I'm going to to stop letting them have so much water and get them into a much more porous mix (I think they're just in dirt right now--my transition to gritty mix is incomplete). I'll attempt a small batch of 5-1-1.
Jojo, no need to wait for seeds these multiply like crazy once they get going.
I have a huge one of these, seems like i have to repot it every year or so.In fact i've been thinking of doing it all week, just havn't got around to it.This thing grows like gangbusters for me.
