is this brand of peatmoss ok?

this is the brand ive been using all season..just want to make sure its an acceptable brand

Can't tell by that picture. If it has fertilizer in it NO!

Read the bag carefully. NO ADDITIVES should be in it. Just pure peat.

I think that kind may be OK, but like Tommy said, you'd better read all the fine print on the bag. If it doesn't specifically say it's good as a growth medium or soil amendment, I would not buy it.

That same Web site you got the photo from also has another brand, Sunshine, that might be worth checking out.

The bad moss looks slightly green. It's not only bad for carnivores, either. It'll also kill or stunt orchids and epiphytic cacti. In fact, I suspect that it's the reason nothing grows in a flower bed where I used to dump out my pots after a plant died.

Sphagnum only. There are many kinds of Peatmoss including some that will kill your plants very quick. Most of them contain compost.
