Best vegie garden border plants?

HappyinmyGarden1000September 24, 2012

What is the best border plant to use for my winter vegetable garden? I use marigolds for my summer garden but can't find reference info for what is the best to attract bees and help control pests for a winter vegetable garden in So. CA. I wondered about pansies as a possibilitiy(?). I would appreciate suggestions from all the So.CA winter vegie garden veterans. Thank you.

Snapdragons and stock will keep flowering, and any bees that are still around once it gets cold will visit both. My pineapple sage is just starting to flower now, flowers a long time and it also is attractive to hummers. In early spring citrus trees are a good choice for bees.
