anyone have glossy abelia 'little richard'?

I am thinking about planting some of these on the side of our house as foundation plants. There is currently nothing planted there. I am wondering what the spread of these is in the real world. I get anywhere from 2.5-4 feet online or from nurseries, so I am confused about how I would space them. I don't want them to be a hedge, but I want them to just touch. Thanks.

I had them at my last house in Hillsborough and have young ones at my current location. My mature ones were at least 3 feet across(I'd say pushing four) and their overall height was about 2 feet. As long as you don't take shears to them, they assume a lovely natural shape. I would just clip out a branch here or there that was stretching into territory I had allocated for another plant.

I loved and love mine; they have been trouble-free for me.
