Probable White Peacock

linda_tx8(8)November 22, 2013

Thought I'd share this from last Monday when it was really hot for a few days and we were inundated with butterflies. Hopefully it headed south after that day, haven't seen it since. Now, of course we're going into a rainy & cold period of time. Tomorrow afternoon, it could be down into the high 30's..unfortunately. I just found two more American Lady cats today that I'd apparently overlooked, (easy to do with them) so I brought them in. And GF cats are still turning up.

BEAUTIFUL photo! What exquisite detail. I was wondering what kind of plant that is, very pretty too.

So beautiful. I'm glad you still have activity. I'm spending my time dreaming of projects for next summer. Thanks for sharing.

That was last Monday. Today there's not much of anything flying other than birds...40.5ð right now and wet from the rain last night. That plant is White Mistflower, Eupatorium havanense, a shrubby plant that is used quite a bit by butterflies in the fall. They bloomed late this year and the butterflies just loved them when they finally bloomed! It's slowly seeding out, so won't be blooming long.
