I dropped my vft twice on accident and all the traps closed and then i just put them out side and they opened but the beginning of the plant (bottom of the plant near the roots )is slowly turning into a light yellow color

Its possible it is just adjusting to outside life,if it was indoors before, give it all the sun you can, thats what i do.

I doesn't look like it's dying or anything. They do acquire a reddish hue when exposed to bright light. So it could be simply that it slowly becoming reddish.

I can tell your plant isn't or wasn't getting enough light, the yellowing color on some of the leaves and small traps. How long have you had your VFT?
