Oro Blanco not flowering

labrahamian(z9/ sz21 CA)January 31, 2013

Hello all,

I have an Oro Blanco that's been in the ground for almost two years, planted from a 5 gallon. The tree is growing quite well, lot's of growth and is lush looking. Full sun, no pests, very little fertilizer and otherwise very healthy. The problem is that it never flowered this last spring. For a tree that displays so much vigor; is it unusual for no flowers on a tree that's now about 3-4' tall?

Any suggestions would be welcome,

Well, "very little fertilizer" might have something to do with that. I would start fertilizing your Oroblanco regularly, starting in February, with a good quality citrus fertilizer. Is it getting full sun? Sometimes it can take a couple of years for citrus to bloom and produce fruit, and it does help if you fertilize your citrus. If you can post some photos of the tree, that might help us, too.
